Sonia Roco will continue the legacy left by her husband, the late Senator Raul S. Roco. With this in mind, she endeavors to pursue the following legislative agenda in the Senate:

Education for the Youth – accessible quality education for all.

Education has been the hallmark of Raul Roco’s stint as both a Senator and Secretary for Education. As an educator herself, education is close to Inang Guro’s heart. She believes that through education, a person can emancipate oneself from the fetters of poverty and political disengagement. In the knowledge age, education is the key.

Empowerment for Women – opportunities and rights for women.

Having been active in women’s rights and being the partner of the “Honorary Woman”, Sonia believes that the goal to protect and promote women’s rights continues to be an ongoing struggle for many women. As one of the three women candidate in LP’s Senate slate, she hopes to carry the cudgels for women in the halls of the Senate.

Economy that provides for All – a sustainable (environment) one that seeks the well-being (health) of its people.

Continue to provide equal opportunity for all, special privileges to none. Once adjudged by environmental groups in 2007 as the “Greenest Candidate to the Senate” owing to her genuinely pro-environment platform, she hopes to protect the future of our children by safeguarding God’s creations.
